i think it is a nice poem. i stayed interested throughout. it sounds like your coach was a jerk. but, with due respect, maybe you shouldnt let yourself off the hook either. if you chose the church youth event instead of practice, then you should have realized that there would be a consequence to that. you could use that as a learning experience. also, when your coach tested you by leaving you behind, that was cruel and dirty. but you could learn from your friend who did not let the coach beat him down, he showed up to the game anyway and he ended up playing. this showed great resiliency, determination, and boldness. to do what you love, you may have to deal with obstacles and adversity, but if you choose to give up, then you will never do what you love.
