Soo I have this hugh bruise.?

I woke up the other morning with a hugh bruise on my side were my ribs are like i mean this bruise is the size of a baseball and so dark that it doesn't look like it's going to go away. I can lie down on it but when i move certain ways like turning it really really hurts. Like really hurts i went to the doctors but it was so busy that i said f-it. I also sprained my ankle... which sucks but what my question is would my ribs be seriously hurt. Why i ask is because i have seriously hurt myslef once before and didn't notice till a week later.
