I'm having trouble with my snowblower. My husband is out of town & I have over a foot of snow in Ohio?

My snowblower shoot clogged up after taking a couple pes with it. I put it away in the garage to try to thaw it out for a little while & put an old blanket on the floor to catch the melted snow run off. Well, when I started up the snowblower & moved forward, I realized the blanket was in the snowblower auger & stopped it right away. However, I have a wet, cold blanket wrapped into the auger & don't know how to get it out. My utility knife won't cut it & I don't know what to do. Can anyone help me, please?
